Based all over the UK, with a variety of backgrounds and experience, we strive to be the best we can be, to help our Members grow their businesses and succeed through our community.

About Us

Our Members and Partners are forward-looking tech business leaders who want to contribute to, as well as benefit from, our community.

Being owned by The Members for The Members is one of our core values and distinguishes us from other groups.

We are committed to transforming the customer experience and driving customer-led growth. We do this by providing access to commercial terms, peer group support, development tools and new opportunities.

Not only do we support our members to buy better, sell more, and increase profits, we work with vendors and distributors to open up advantageous routes to market.

One of the most powerful tools we provide is a facilitated forum, and structure, for peer knowledge exchange and mentoring, personal and professional development and the building of meaningful, connected relationships.

Working together collaboratively we know we can grow our businesses. Our average member sees double digit growth annually in revenues and profitability.

Established in 1994, as the UK’s most innovative and entrepreneurial IT group, today Network Group’s numbers have more than trebled, and so has our combined revenues, to more than £200 million.

Our Mission

Our mission is to create a thriving community of engaged tech people, who share their time, knowledge & influence to support the success of our members.

Our Vision

We are committed to transforming the customer experience and driving customer-led growth. We do this by providing access to commercial terms, peer group support, development and new opportunities.

Our Purpose

Our purpose is to bring forward-looking tech people together, to improve themselves & their businesses.

Our 30 Year Timeline

1994

Network Buying Group (NBG) was formed.

Founded by a small group of IT resellers who were originally part of the National Association of Specialist Computer Resellers (NASCR), but became disallusioned with it's direction...and Network Buying Group was born! Founding Members included John Dollery of Computerbase, Richard Gandy of Computer Cavern and Steven Lightfoot Snr of Pudsey Computers who are still Members of the Group today!

2002

Wayne Cockerill of Aindale became MD of NBG in 2002 and assumed the role of 'acting chair' until his formal appointment as Char in January 2003. He remained in the post for some 15 years, the Group's longest standing Chairman!

2003

First General Manager of Network Buying Group was appointed (Jason Clegg) to work alongside the elected Executive Team.

2005

Network Buying Group grew to 29 Members during our first decade with ~50% profiling as traditional 'Retailers' and ~50% profiling as 'B2B Resellers'

2006

Recruited a key member of staff, Annette Robson, who served as an Executive Board Manager. During her 13 years of service Annette became known as the 'Queen Bee of Network Group' responsible for almost everything...events, sales, bookkeeping, payroll...to name a few!

2007

NBG became actively involved in a variety of initiatives to bring further benefit to it's Members including: HomeComputing Initiative (HCI); associated memberships with complimentary organisations including Nemo; launch of 'Spamstore' NBG's very own spam filter solution powered by In-Tuition.

2008

Launched our B2B Solutions Brochure - a quarterly publication designed to bring the best product and solution offers to our Membership and their customers.

2010

Launch of Technology To Go - TTG is Network Group's exclusive dedicated purchasing company for the benefit of its Members. Effectively offering a Buyer as a Service,
sourcing items where either our Member companies would not or could not e.g. where access wasn't granted due to accreditation. TTG continue to provide that value add service to our Members who see benefit in not having the cost of their own experienced personnel to undertake this valuable role in their business. TTG broadens our Members access to supply through a single source, offering the potential to reduce the cost of operation and administration.

Phylip Morgan joins as Managing Director and led the Group through a period of growth over a 9-year tenure. Membership numbers grew from 43 Members in 2010 to 70 Members in 2018

Hosted our 1st Network Buying Group Exhibition, Gala &
Awards
event in Windsor.

2011

NBG is reborn as Network Group (NG) - Network Group created two major new initiatives to support its Members at this time. The first was an e-commerce platform, which allowed Members to create their own online stores, with pricing and availability fed directly from key distributors. The second, was a focus on commercial benefit, with regular special offers being negotiated by the Group, for Members to take advantage of.

2013

David Tulip joins NG as a Head of Managed Print, a group initiative designed to save our Members time and money on printing supplies, maintenance and cost.

2015

Launch of Inventory Hub which later became Catalyst - a unique procurement tool developed by Members, for Members. A live feed giving Members the ability to search products, pricing, comparisons and stock availability from a catalogue of ~4.6 million products!

2016

PCR Dealer Services of the Year award winner

A renewed focus on NG's Mission, Vision & Values was undertaken to qualify what Network Group meant to its ~60 Members. Our values of 'openness', 'results focussed', 'better today' and 'do the right thing' still define the Group today.
