Chairman – Network Group

Perry Ashby came to IT following a career in Telecoms, after identifying a gap in the operations provided to a group of serviced offices he was managing. A natural problem solver, he worked to create a bespoke solution tailored to the individual client under one fully managed service solution. Once his business plan was finalised, Perry took a risk and with long-time friend and colleague Stuart Wilcocks, started Urban Network in 2003. The group of serviced offices that were the catalyst to his transition became their first client and are still loyal customers 17 years later.

Urban Network has evolved into one of the most respected Managed Service Providers in the UK and over the last six years Perry has taken an active position in the direction and development of this fast maturing sector. He previously served as CompTIA Vice Chair, influencing business strategy with his insight and experience.

Perry is passionate about delivering great service, the foundation of which is to understand your Client. He believes that working in partnership with the Client provides a unique insight to deliver a professional, reliable and individual service. Working together to not only realise but further exceed their expectations and potential.

Urban Network joined Network Group in 2015 and Perry quickly became an active voice in the community.

Perry says, “Network Group is unique in the Channel and delivers so many opportunities to the Member. It’s not just about commercial value or accountability, but a successful combination of the two. Network Group has evolved, and continues to evolve, into a well-structured community of like-minded empowered tech people, who consistently work together to enrich not only their businesses but their own personal development.

You can’t have a meaningful voice unless you’re actively involved – not shouting from the side lines, but working as a team, making things better for the whole community. Network Group is the right space for me to make use of my knowledge, skills and expertise. I look forward to working with a team of dedicated Channel professionals to deliver exceptional service.

I personally believe that you don’t grow when you’re comfortable, you grow when you step up, feel the fear and use that motivation to push forward! If I can continue to hold the trust and respect of my peers as I steer the Group through the next phase of its evolution, I’ll feel that I achieved something I can be very proud of.”
